The domestic maglev special line train went offline at CRRC Tangshan Company
On September 2, the first domestic maglev tourist special line, the Guangdong Qingyuan Maglev tourist special line train, went offline in Tangshan. This is the sixth generation maglev train independently innovated and developed by CRRC Tangshan. CRRC Tangshan has become the only company in the world with both 2000mm and 1860mm gauge maglev technology platforms, providing commercial maglev trains in bulk for two cities and two lines, which is of great significance to promote China's maglev technology development and build a transportation powerhouse.

CRRC Tangshan Company was founded in 1881. It is the birthplace of China's rail transit industry. It is the earliest rail equipment host enterprise in China to carry out the engineering and industrialization of maglev transportation technology.CRRC Tangshan has actively implemented the spirit of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and has been deeply engaged in maglev technology research and engineering research and development for nearly 20 years. It has taken the new type of rail transit represented by medium and low-speed maglev transportation as the growth pole of innovation and development. It has led the organization to explore maglev transportation technology, broke through a series of key technical problems, and actively participated in the preparation of maglev transportation industry standards, becoming a leader in China's maglev transportation industry.Since 2003, CRRC Tangshan has developed and manufactured seven generations of maglev train products.Among them, the fourth-generation product is currently the medium- and low-speed maglev train with the longest grouping and the largest passenger capacity in the world. It has been in passenger operation on the Beijing S1 line for nearly five years and has successfully served the Beijing Winter Olympics.The seventh-generation product has a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and innovatively adopts key technologies such as carbon fiber lightweight composite materials and “permanent magnet synchronous intermediate drive + F-rail permanent magnet electromagnetic suspension”, which has achieved the perfect integration of medium and low-speed maglev and high-speed maglev technology, reaching the international advanced level.

As the sixth-generation product, the Qingyuan Maglev train adopts normally conductive maglev and short stator linear motor traction technology, with a magnetic track gauge of 1860mm and a design speed of 120km/h.The train adopts a centralized two-point suspension control system, an excellent aerodynamic streamlined design, and a safe and reliable pure hydraulic braking device. It relies on the electromagnetic suction generated by the normally conductive magnet “holding” under the rail row and the rail row to make the train float about 8-10mm, driven forward by a linear motor, without vibration and friction between the wheels and the track.It has the technical advantages of ”small turning radius and strong climbing ability“, the cost-effective advantages of ”low project cost and low operation and maintenance cost", and the green environmental protection advantages such as safety, low carbon and low noise. It has completely independent intellectual property rights of the entire industrial chain, and its technical indicators are at the forefront of maglev transportation.On the maglev test line of CRRC Tangshan Company, the yellow and white Qingyuan Maglev train quietly and smoothly “flies” along the track, like a cute dolphin.According to Liu Youfeng, the chief designer of the train, the R&D team has carried out comprehensive innovation and optimization in the suspension structure, suspension control system, traction system, body material, noise control, etc., and applied cutting-edge technologies such as lightweight aluminum alloy body, battery redundancy, self-traction, automatic reconnection, and ATO autonomous driving. The operating speed, reliability, comfort, and intelligence of the train have been comprehensively optimized and improved, with a 48% increase in traction capacity and an 8% increase in suspension capacity. The maximum suspension force of the bicycle is 35t, and the maximum passenger capacity of the three marshalled trains can reach 500 people.

In order to highlight the unique charm of the tourist line, CRRC Tangshan incorporated “science and technology + humanities” elements into the industrial design of the Qingyuan Maglev train-the low-resistance streamlined front resembles a dolphin, the environmentally friendly water-based paint coating is fresh and natural, the ergonomic seats are lightweight and comfortable, and the roof ring LED lights have a rich visual experience.The customized interior also cleverly incorporates animal shapes such as red-crowned cranes, giraffes, African elephants, and giant pandas. The childlike animal footprints on the floor complement the theme of the fantasy forest Park, and passengers feel like they are in a fairy tale world.

The Qingyuan Maglev Tourist Special Line is a key construction project in Guangdong Province and Qingyuan City. It is the core carrier for Guangdong Province, China Railway Construction and China CRRC to deepen strategic cooperation, lead transportation innovation, and build the “Qingyuan+ Maglev+Chimelong” brand.The dedicated line has a total length of 38 kilometers, with the main function of serving the tourist attractions of Chimelong Theme Park, and realizing the rapid access between Guangqing Intercity Yinzhan Station and Chimelong Theme Park.The total length of the first phase of the project is about 8.1 kilometers, with three stations: Maglev Yinzhan Station, Maglev Lianhu Station, and Maglev Chimelong Station. This new model of “Maglev+tourism” will become a “Qingyuan sample” for exploring the development of maglev trains in our country's original ecological tourism areas, and the “Qingyuan experience” that guides some areas to take the road of ecotourism development has become a new way to promote global tourism and realize the leapfrog development of tourism.
